Prose
What is Prose?
The word prose is derived from the Latin word Prorsus, which means “STRAIGHT ON” “CONTINUOUS” and “FORWARD”. It can be define as a piece of writing that goes straight on and continues to the very end.
TYPES OF PROSE
* Non-fiction
* Fiction
NON-FICTION: A Non-functional Prose is a Prose which consist of real life Events, Characters, Settings, plot, etc. Though, it may contain some events, Characters, etc which are not true. A real life story of a person written by another person (Biography),a real life story of a person written by him/her (Auto-biography), Memoir, Journals, etc are all Non-fictional prose.
FICTION: Fictional prose are prose which are not true. It was just writing for entertainment, enlightenment, etc, but not true. Novels, Romance, Folktale, etc are all types of Fictional prose.
ELEMENTS OF PROSE
The basic elements of prose are:
* Characters
* Setting
* Plot
* Point of view
* Etc.
